Church Planting, Bible Teaching and Pastoral Work

Work summary

Matt leads the church plant team in Nenagh. He and Jules invest their time in people, through community involvement. They seek to demonstrate the love of God through true friendship and prayerfully looking for openings to share the message of hope in Jesus. Other responsibilities include running a weekly bible study and weekly services in Nenagh. A coffee morning has just begun every Thursday mornings.

Matt was largely brought up in Dublin whilst Jules is from Glasgow and both come from Christian homes. Matt was a member of Jamestown Road Baptist Church and Jules was a member of Chryston Parish, Church of Scotland. They met and married whilst on a 3-year degree course at Moorlands Bible College, Bournemouth.

Matt and Jules have 4 children, Eoghan Tadhg,Skye Rionna, Shay Jakeand Lachlan Ryan. Eoghan loves building with Lego: Skye is our social one: Shay watches and learns very quickly: whilst Lachlan is finding his place in the world at warp speed!

Matt has a keen interest in any sport that includes a ball; and music, both listening to it and playing the guitar; whilst Jules enjoys cooking, swimming and athletics.

We are committed to producing and delivering at least one quality colour leaflet each year designed to provocatively stir up interest in spiritual matters. Nenagh Baptist Church opened a building to the public for our first service at Easter 2009. The Lord has wonderfully supplied the resources to rent and fit out what is a lovely building near the town centre. The building provides the group with a visible presence in the town and a weekly coffee morning has been started. There are plans to begin a children's bible club and other ventures.

Praise the Lord for the necessary funds for this exciting shop-front in Nenagh town centre. Praise the Lord for a good team spirit between ourselves and Dean and Julia Langley. Pray that the Lord will supply others to fill the gap when Dean & Julia leave for a year's furlough in December. Pray also for sensitivity to God's spirit in taking up opportunities to share and demonstrate the greatness of God to this community.
